در اين مطالعه صنايع پائين‌دستي مس كشور به منظور يافتن بهترين زمينه‌هاي سرمايه‌گذاري براي شركت هلدينگ بررسي شد. در مرحله اول از ميان صدها زمينه مختلف فعاليت، توليد الكتروموتور، ساخت ترانسفورماتورهاي توزيع و قدرت، توليد لوله و پروفيل مسي، توليد تابلوهاي برق و توليد سيم و كابل انتخاب شده و مطالعات: بازار، امكان‌سنجي فني، مالي، اقتصادي و زيست‌محيطي آنها انجام شد. براي پنج كارخانه مورد مطالعه، دوره ساخت ٢ ساله و دوره بهره‌برداري ١٥ ساله و هزينه فرصت سرمايه‌گذار ١٨% فرض شد. توليد در سال اول، ٥٠% و در سال دوم ٧٥% ظرفيت اسمي و در سال‌هاي بعد ١٠٠% ظرفيت اسمي درنظرگرفته شده است. مقدار ٢٠% سود خالص سالانه به عنوان ماليات كسر شد.
