Project: Necessity of Seawater Desalination in Southeast of Iran
Client: Omran Mokran Development
Background: Despite chronic water scarcity in southeastern Iran along the Sea of Oman coastline, the region possesses significant geographic and economic potential. The southern valleys of the Mokran Mountains contain fertile agricultural soils that have been left uncultivated due to the absence of reliable water resources.
Actions: This documentary highlights the potential for seawater desalination as a solution to unlock the region’s development. With a sustainable water supply in place, the area’s warm climate and well-developed transportation infrastructure could provide ideal conditions for a wide range of investments.
Results: The study concludes that one of the most promising strategies for regional development is the establishment of multiple large-capacity seawater desalination plants along the Sea of Oman coastline. In addition to reviewing the development opportunities in southeastern Iran, the documentary outlines recent advances in desalination technologies and aims to attract the interest of both domestic and foreign investors to these projects as viable and profitable ventures.
