Project: MetOcean Studies of Foruz B Sea Gas Pipeline
Client: Mapna Oil & Gas
Background: Mapna Oil & Gas planned a gas refinery on Qeshm Island, requiring reliable data for the design of a 160 km underwater pipeline from Foruz B Gas Platform to the island. MEWE carried out comprehensive field measurements to support engineering design.
Actions: The program included bottom-mounted ADCP devices, vessel-based current profilers, and meteorological monitoring for wind, air temperature, humidity, rainfall, and pressure. Data on currents, waves, tides, surges, marine growth, and seawater properties were collected.
Results: These results informed 2DH hydrodynamic modeling, which provided calibrated design parameters for both basic and detailed design stages.
