Project: Kerman Province Sport Complexes
Client: National Iranian Copper Industries Company
Background: The cities of Kerman, Rafsanjan, and Shahr-Babak have long-standing ties with NICICo, the largest mineral industry in the province. As part of its social responsibility initiatives, NICICo undertook the construction of major sports complexes in these cities. MEWE was appointed as the project’s Managing Consultant and Construction Supervisor.
Actions: In its role as Project Management Consultant, MEWE reviewed, commented on, and approved the designers’ reports and drawings. In later stages, during construction, MEWE was again engaged—this time as the construction supervisor for the Kerman Sports Complex, the largest of the three facilities.
Results: The three sports complexes, each centered around football stadiums with seating capacities of 35,000 and 10,000 spectators, were built in the key cities of Kerman Province. Architectural designs incorporated elements inspired by the ancient cultural heritage of eastern Iran, while the complexes were equipped with modern infrastructure and state-of-the-art facilities.
