Project: Flight Catering Building and Installations
Client: Mahan Airlines
Background: To establish new in-flight catering capabilities at its Kerman Airport base, Mahan Airlines planned the construction of a facility with a production capacity of 3,000 meals per day. MEWE was appointed to undertake all stages of engineering design as well as construction supervision.
Actions: Drawing on its prior experience in expanding Arman Company’s catering facilities in Tehran, MEWE was able to advance this new greenfield project at a relatively fast pace. Multiple technical meetings were held with the future operations and maintenance teams, who also provided input for the process engineering disciplines. The design complied with both local and international standards.
Results: The facility consists of a two-story reinforced concrete building with a total floor area of 1,850 m² and overall dimensions of 50 × 25 meters. Major utilities include air handling units, air washers, and compressors. The operation is designed to produce 3,000 meals per day, with staffing provisions for approximately 60 personnel per working shift.
