Project: Bathymetric Survey of Tailings Dams Decant Ponds
Client: National Iranian Copper Industries Company
Background: Under an ongoing contract with NICICo, MEWE conducts periodic surveys of tailings deposition patterns in the reservoirs of Sarcheshmeh, Miduk, and Sungun tailings dams.
Actions: Bathymetric surveys of decant ponds are performed using echo-sounding equipment, while topographic surveys of tailings beaches use theodolites and level meters. Data is processed into drawings and volumetric computations.
Results: All raw and processed data is stored in a dedicated database, enabling long-term analysis of tailings beach slopes and water volumes, supporting water and tailings management planning.
