Background |
Qushm Utility Company, affiliated to Qushm Island Free Zone authorities, has planned for installation of a seawater desalination plant to provide part of the potable and sanitary water requirements of the Qushm City. The plant capacity was planned for a starting phase of 5000 m3/day to be expanded with another similar capacity plant. |

Results |
The design incorporated the intake system (through beach wells), the pretreatment system, the RO plant and the post treatment facilities. The Plant actually overtook the role of a previously operating thermal desalination plant. At the second phase of expansion the plant capacity was doubled to 10,000 m3/day. |
